Big & Little Sister Week
Becoming a Big Sister is an honor in Gamma Phi Beta. Each potential big is evaluated on our four core values; love, labor, learning, and loyalty.
The Big/Little process consists of eight weeks of meeting potential Big Sisters, hanging out with them and then eventually ranking at the end of the eight weeks. After ranking, there is a whole Clue Week where each Little Sister receives a bag of gifts and clues from her Big Sister, then reveal is that Saturday! Big Sisters get to choose what theme their reveal is and the Little Sister runs to the box that matches her outfit to have her Big Sister jump out at her!

"Although someone may join a chapter during recruitment because they loved the sisters they met, no one really knows how much the chapter and these letters can mean to them or what true love for your chapter really means until you have your moment. Everyone has one, and while you have many, there's always one time you'll remember as being the one that gave your chapter experience added meaning and value in your life. For me it was getting a little of my own. My big was such an influential individual in my life both, personally and professionally, and I knew I wanted to be as great of a mentor as she was to me to my little. Since having my little in my life, I realize the importance of being a role model and how ones actions influence the other's. She's taught me compassion, patience, and empathy and I am grateful for all of the things she continues to teach me every day. We help each other work through any situation we may be facing and I know whether it's a call with good or bad news we are there for each other. Having her in addition to her own little to our family has had such a positive influence on my day to day college experience. Big, Little, and G-little may just be titles to some but to me it means my unconditional support system, cheerleaders, and best friends."
